Jet City Improv presents:
Seattle's Most Awesome Karaoke Performance Ever 2010
A Fundraiser for Wing It Productions and its At Risk Youth Education Program
It was Sunday, May 16, and it was a rousing success!

Nearly 20 participants came together for one
evening of fun and awards. Participants signed up to win prizes and a panel of celebrity judges (including Bill Wixey from Q13 Fox News, Big Lo, Kai Curtis [last year's winner!] and Sara
Problem from Rat City Rollergirls) all judged them based on creativity and performance. The Grand Prize Winner was Jordali (Vashali De and Jordan Naftolin), doing Alanis Morrisette's
"You Oughta Know."
THanks to Kate Jaeger, our Auction Mistress, we raised $5000 for our Outreach Programs. A big thanks goes out to everyone who
participated, and to Natasha Ransom, Lauren Domino, Chris Dewar and Jon Horton who headed this great event!

Background

A few years ago, many of our improv teachers got in the habit of taking their adult improv students out to do karaoke after classes and showcases as a way
to celebrate and get more comfortable performing in front of people.
In 2009, we decided to take this idea and create a fun event around it for a good cause. The Education Outreach Programs at Wing-It Productions provide free weekly improv
classes to homeless and incarcerate youth. The goal is to help these kids develop valuable communication skills and build confidence. It's not about teaching comedy,
it's about teaching life lessons with laughter as a healing tool.
Wing-It Productions is a 501c3 organization that is committed to education. We offer workshops, residences, and many other programs to High Schools and non-profit organizations, often at little or no cost to the organization.
