Northwest Convention of Intercollegiate Improv (NCII)

Wing-It Productions is proud to say that its first annual NCII (April 2010) was AMAZING! Check back in this space in the future for
info on the second annual NCII, which will be sometime in 2011.
Please contact Wing-It's Education Director Chris Dewar at education@jetcityimprov.com or
206.352.8291 x2 if you are interested in participating in 2011's convention.
The following groups attended the 2010 NCII:
The Groups

The Collective (University of Washington)
The Collective is the University of Washington's best (and only) improv troupe. Celebrating their 11th year of existence, the Collective is known around UW for
everyting from their shortform, to their longform, to their "historical reenactments" involving robots, pirates, and ninjas.
Ubiquitous They (University of Puget Sound)
Ubiquitous They began all the way back in 2002 as a humble radio show taking place primarily in and around
the radio. Over the years it has branched into separate improv and sketch comedy groups that are both extremely. Ubiquitous They also spawned a Seattle-based sketch
comedy troupe that won the name in a game of blackjack, forcing the Tacoma based Ubiquitous They to change their name by next year. Look for us next year as a new
name that we haven't picked yet. Maybe "Return of Jafar!" That has a nice ring to it.

Dead Parrots Society (Western Washington University)
Founded back in 1998, The Dead Parrots Society has been keeping Western Washington University in stitches for over a dozen years. The Parrots have gone on to perform
with the Upfront Theatre, Jet City Improv, Second City, and many other theatrical adventures. The Parrots are devoted to cooperative creativity, and have created
several original long forms that have been in use throughout Northwestern Improv groups. Ensemble members are hand-selected through Open Rehearsals. The Dead Parrots
Society prides itself on their commitment to quality storytelling, unique brand of humor, and their supporting and collaborative attitude towards members of their own
company and Improvisational peers. We are honored to be a part of the NCII this year, and look forward to many laughs in the future!
What is the NCII?
The NCII is a convention where members of college improv groups (by application only) from around the Pacific Northwest converge on Wing-It Productions (the home of Jet City Improv) to watch some of the best improv in the nation, take improv workshops for some of Wing-It's best improv instructors, get to perform on Wing-It's stage in front of a live audience, and participate in other great networking events, such as a panel discussion and an improv jam with the other college groups and members of Jet City Improv.
Mission Statement
The NCII is committed to raising the national profile of Seattle-based comedians and to helping build a "community of comedy" in Western Washington through sponsoring classes, shows and other events throughout the year.
The Northwest Convention of Intercollegiate Improv (NCII) strives to:
- Foster collaboration and the sharing ideas between students of improv.
- Connect professional improvisers to students of the art.
- Provide information and exposure to the world of improv beyond school to young improvisers.
- Serve Seattle audiences with a greater variety of improvised theater.
