An Improvisational Theater Tournament for High School Students

The Seattle Open is the largest high school improv tournament of the year. Students from northwest schools are invited to show off their improv stylings to other students, friends, faculty and families. Jet City Improv is dedicated to providing a nurturing atmosphere for students who wish to learn more about the art of improvisational comedy. This tournament gives students an opportunity to perform for family, friends, and the community, as well as expose them to a wide range of improv stylings. It's also a chance for them to meet other students who share a love for the craft.
A big thank you to the top 4 teams from the 2007 Seattle Open: The Seattle Nova Project, The Center School, Newport HS, and Bishop Blanchet HS! Congratulations to Newport for their first-place win! We hope they come back in '08 to defend their title!

History
What a success! The first annual Seattle Open high school improv tournament, hosted by Wing-It Productions on November 12, 2006, was fabulous! Three teams, comprised of twenty-two students from 6 different high schools brought their unique talents and improv stylings to the Historic University Theatre for a night of laughs and learning. Wing-It productions developed this event as a free educational opportunity, open to any high-schooler in the greater Seattle area, giving teams from all over the city the chance to learn from one another, and to perform on a professional stage in front of a wonderful audience. WIP couldn't be prouder of the work these students demonstrated. They've shown us that there is a new generation of improvisational theatre artists just waiting to take the stage and wow us all!
We are now entering the third year of the Seattle Open, and the competition is heating up! Get your team together today, and put together a fabuous improv show! You can use short-form or long-form styles - whatever you want!
Wing-It Productions is a 501c3 organization that is committed to education. We offer workshops, residences, and many other programs to High Schools and non-profit organizations, often at little or no cost to the organization. Please contact us if you are interested in having Wing-It Productions come to your school or facility to provide an educational program.
